Fighting for positive change
As a social entrepreneur, Kwamara Thompson has always been fighting for positive change by leading with her passion for education. She is an accomplished speaker, consultant, educator, entrepreneur, and activist.
Kwamara is a powerful movement builder driven by the initiative “I am a Black Woman, Yes I Matter.” Her organization is dedicated to promoting sistahood and building community among Black women through various means such as angel investing, education, creating platforms, sharing resources, community impact, and more.
As an angel and seed investor, Kwamara and her education, technology, and business consulting company, TEC, LLC, have invested tens of thousands of dollars in hundreds of small businesses owned by Black women across the country.
One of the main goals is to empower Black women to become leaders in their communities and beyond. Through education and training, the aim is to provide Black women with the tools they need to succeed in all aspects of their lives.
Kwamara has always believed that entrepreneurship and education are often the best ways to attain financial freedom; to live the quality of life you want to live. She has been promoting sistahood, community, and empowerment for over 20 years.

From the classroom to the boardroom, Kwamara's path has been defined by a relentless commitment to empowering others.
The Educator
Beginning as a passionate educator, Kwamara built her career in education, earning a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, a Masters in Education Leadership, and an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University.
The Investor
As an angel and seed investor, Kwamara and her umbrella company TEC, LLC have invested tens of thousands of dollars in hundreds of small businesses owned by women across the country.
The Philanthropist
Kwamara and her family have helped to raise and give out hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to students across the country.
The Movement Builder
Her latest initiative, Women Invest in Women — a worldwide tour, podcast, and TV show — seeks to create a global economic ecosystem centered around sisterhood, humanity, and the Diaspora.

Amplifying women's voices
Kwamara is the host of “I am A Black Woman, Yes I Matter,” a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing the diverse perspectives and experiences of Black women across the global African diaspora.
She has also hosted RTL Live, a show dedicated to helping students in K-12 learn about the entrepreneurial journey of notable figures such as Stacy Abrams, Misty Copeland, and John King Jr.
She is also the co-founder of BITE-CON week, a weekly initiative during Miami Tech week to ensure accessibility and inclusivity in tech.
